The Ft. Worth Area Family Association welcomes all families in the process of, or created by, adoption. Regardless of the type of adoption program (Domestic, International, New Beginnings or ABC) that you select, we share a common bond-the love of a precious child.
The Ft. Worth Area Family Association is unique because of its location. Our members live close to the Gladney Center and are on campus frequently, giving us greater access into the daily activities of the staff and resident birth
mothers. One of our most important tools is our newsletter, The Tarrant Touch, which keeps members up-to-date on all of our educational and social events.
Because we're close by, our resident activity coordinators are able to take birth mothers to special events and activities, giving them an opportunity to see the beautiful families being created by their courageous acts of love. It also helps Gladney adoptees understand why their birth mothers decided to find individuals who were better prepared to be parents.
Volunteer Opportunities
Here is just a sampling of ways that you can help:
- Outreach: Participate in a task force, provide information to schools, religious groups and conventions, and recruit new families for international programs.
- Birth Mother Services: Drive birth mothers to activities, assist or host birth mother parties and solicit much-needed items for them and their dorm. You also may participate in a birth mother mentoring program or witness birth parent relinquishments.
- Association Events: Assist with events like the "Blossoms In The Dust" Luncheon, Spring Family Picnic, Holiday Party and international activities, and by supporting the Telephone Committee.
